HobbiesI have taught both internationally and domestically and currently work as a novelist and author of short stories. My passions of reading and writing both emit from my experience of literature as a way of fostering deep connections.
Each of these passions requires a commitment to total mastery of the basics of writing—grammar, punctuation, parts of speech, etc—and also to using writing as an effective means of powerful communication. I work with students on mastering the techniques for reading (fiction and non-fiction) and writing (creative, analytical, and persuasive) that prepare them to succeed in an academically rigorous setting.
My approach is kind, disciplined, and focused: I aim for each student I work with to connect with reading and writing while gaining mastery of and appreciation for the particular forms they are learning. I have taught and tutored those from 1st grade to 12th grade, have read dozens of college essays, and have worked with students of multiple language backgrounds.
