Victoria S.
Private tutor in Berkeley, CA
Education
Sophomore Economics Major at UC Berkeley.
Experience
I learned English only when I moved to New Jersey in 10th grade, so the language barrier impeded my transition from Quebec to NJ. However, through the help of my tutors back then, I was able to catch up very quickly and ended up acing all my classes, which is why I would like to give back by becoming a tutor myself. I am a quick learner; one year after I had moved to NJ, I became a Math and English teacher and tutored six to 22 y-o students at the academy where I had been tutored a year ago (Priddy Learning Academy). Previously, I've worked as a business analyst at Flextronics, a strategy consultant for Medium.com, an investment banking analyst for Architect Partners, and an extern at the World Bank. I am fluent in Mandarin, French, and Spanish; I am also currently learning German, Italian, and Russian on top of my upper-division economics classes. I've scored a 5 on AP Calculus AB, AP French, AP Spanish, AP Chinese; a 4 on AP Statistics, AP Biology, AP History, AP US Government, and AP English Literature.

Hobbies
I've been a competitive pianist for the majority of my life; I've performed at Carnegie Hall in NYC as a solo pianist when I was in high school, and I've won multiple, provincial music competitions since the age of twelve. In my free time, I enjoy learning new languages, exploring neighborhoods/cities, playing piano, and exercising.
