I am currently a fourth year student at UC Berkeley, double majoring in Political Economics & Japanese.

Experience

I have tutored in free 1:1 settings for the last two years in Tokyo, Japan for english-speaking foreigners. Bi-lingual and Bi-cultural in Japanese. Three years Japanese Honors class: Excellence in Japanese Language Award: 2006, 2007. Lived in Japan six years, including attendance at local elementary school: Sept ‘92 – Dec ‘96.

I currently am 23 and a student at UC Berkeley. Education has been a huge influence in my life, and I love emphasizing the importance of it with those starting to get serious about studying. Studying has always held precedence over play, but that doesn't mean I don't know how to have a good time. I have been playing volleyball competitively for about 8 years now all through high school and college. I also am a fan of just spending the afternoon hanging out with friends playing board games and watching movies. I feel like I am really easy-going and understanding guy able to work with a variety of personalities. Being young myself, I feel like I would be able to understand and work with someone of a younger age group. Japanese is a tough language, and while it can be stressful at times, I can provide a fun and effective way for us to learn together about this amazing language and culture.
