I have always really enjoyed teaching and I like tutoring because it allows me to focus my attention on what works best for the individual student. In the past I have tutored friends informally, as well as had specific tutoring jobs. In one situation, I tutored a peer in French who just needed homework help 2-3 nights a week. Another time, I tutored a student over summer who was nervous about not being prepared for French 2 in the fall. My greatest success was helping a student who wanted to skip a level (she had taken French 1 and wished to skip to French 3). After working with her over summer, she was not only able to skip to French 3, but informed me that she held the highest grade in the class! My specialty is middle/high school level French (or beginner college level), but I am also open to being a writing tutor if needed or helping younger students with basic study skills (any grade level is great!). I am happy to provide references :)
