Experience
I have been tutoring chemistry and math for the past five years. I love to tutor because education is my passion and tutoring gives me a deeper understanding of concepts I've learned. While I have been a private tutor for the past five years, I am now teaching at UC Berkeley as a graduate student instructor. In the past I have also worked as a naturalist for a summer camp so I have experience teaching children and teenagers. I have also volunteered in a third grade class teaching high need students math and english. During my undergraduate, I worked in research labs at UC Davis and UC Santa Cruz so I not only have knowledge of the theoretical side of chemistry, but also experience in how it is applied in the real world. I am now researching materials science at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. During my teaching experiences, I have worked with a variety of clients both in high school and college. I have also worked with disabled students so I have a diverse range of pedagogical experiences. In addition to the course at hand, I emphasize study skills and mentorship so students can prepare for an engaging career.
