Private tutor in Berkeley, CA
Education
BS in Chemistry from the University of Georgia in 2004 (4.0 GPA) PhD in Chemistry doing organic synthesis from the University of California, Berkeley in 2009 (4.0 GPA)
Experience
I scored a 5.0 on my AP Chem exam which allowed me to exempt my Freshman year of chemistry, but I took it anyway to keep my skills sharp! I served as a lab instructor at UGA from 2003-2004 after completing the coursework for my undergraduate degree but before even graduating because I had been such an outstanding student. At UC Berkeley, I served as a graduate student instructor for Chem 3B and Chem 112B for three semesters. For two of these semesters, I was awarded the campus's Outstanding GSI award, a distinction only awarded to a few GSIs across all disciplines. I was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, which helped me fund my graduate school experience. I was also awarded a Barry Goldwater Scholarship for excellence in undergraduate science research.

I am originally from Georgia, and moved out to California for Graduate school. I don't think I'll be leaving any time soon. I love to cook, am an avid cyclist, and enjoy a leisurely run as well. Yoga also tends to calm me down!
