As a Cognitive Science student, I had the opportunity to learn a lot about psychology, mathematics, programming, and biology, all while honing my expressive skills as a writer. I have worked on professional research projects at UC Santa Cruz and UC Berkeley and helped facilitate classes at UC Santa Cruz. In the last four years I have been professionally tutoring mathematics while tutoring writing on the side. I am a PhD candidate, and I have a deep understanding of both the promise and pitfalls of academics (I struggled with math in high school, even though now it's a career for me!).
