Tata Endowment Scholarship, 1985 Teaching Philosophy: I enjoy 1-1 tutoring or small group coaching since I can observe the students closely and based on their reaction guide them in real time. I encourage self discovery by patiently working on a new concept, make connections between different areas of math, spiral topics to revisit learnt material. It is rewarding to see a student struggling in math gain more and more confidence as they succeed in doing problems by mastering certain techniques and habits. For students who are already strong in math, showing them some key aspects and preparing them on deeper levels is useful for further studies as well as competitions.
